ive only been using Lightroom and photoshop mix so far but I've gone and got myself a laptop and ventured into the world of photoshop, my main focus is animal photography and want to create some digital photos with the smoke effect behind. Can anyone that knows photoshop recommend which photoshop to go for? I'm getting confused looking online. Thanks in advance

There is only one photoshop. The latest version is CC (Creative Cloud).

What do you mean by you are using Lightroom and Photoshop mix? If you have the CC Photography package, then you already have the latest version.

You can purchase older versions if you prefer not to pay a subscription but you'd need to buy a used licensed copy. I have CS4 on my Mac which works fine and suits my needs. Just make sure it's compatible with your current operating system. If you're on a Mac then CS4 works fine. You won't be able to receive updates and if you're using a Fuji you may need a RAW file converter for RAF files. If you're happy with paying a monthly subscription then just sign up for the latest CC.

Photoshop Mix is a mobile application.

I have the CC package, but xmas got LR6 Standalone and Elements 15, so wont be renewing the CC.
I could be wrong, but I think you may find that LR6 won't read your CC catalogs. I know CC won't read my old LR5 ones.

You can create new catalogs in LR6, but any processing in your CC one will be lost, so it's worth saving the changes in tiffs or jpegs before your subscription runs out.

Photoshop Lightroom - if I'm not too late. It's a great tool for basic image development and cataloging, exporting etc.
