Hi,

I am planning to spend about £2000-ish on a camera and lenses...been looking at Sony, Nikon and Canon...

I have a Panasonic FZ30...8MP Hybrid...28-420mm...and a Raynox 250 macro lens...

My photos range from macro to about the full range of the lens...so I would want to have lenses to cover about the same range...I can still use the macro and maybe some spacers...I also need a flash...

Canon D50, Sony 900 looks amazing, but Id need more money...maybe 700...or what about second hand cameras/lenses...

What about the full size sensor basis the smaller size...

ANYWAY...HELP...

All help welcome...and appreciated...

tbh I think you are asking too wide a question. You are not saying what sort of things you want to shoot. Everything in your flickr is macro, is that what you are interested in?

Any dslr system will take good photos, but the costs will vary and how well they do different things will vary.

Could you say more about what sort of things you want to achieve? What are the important features to you? Low light performance? fast/reliable auto focus? anti-shake?

Are you going to be shooting sports? landscapes? Macro?

First thing would be to visit a camera shop, and actually pick up each of the different makes and see how they feel in the hand. You may not be aware but there is a fair difference in size of the various bodies, the Nikon D40 compared to the D300 for example.

There is little difference in quality of images you will get from any of them.

Nikon and Canon have a greater range of lenses available, and there are more of them out there and available on the used market, however Sony are adding to their range.

It is no use getting loads of replies then making a decision only to find the thing does not feel right.

Go to Jessops, Try out the cameras and buy which you feel is nice.
Then log on to here and ask what lenses will best suit your style of shooting.

If you are after Marco photography, then you might want to look at:
Canon 40d
Sigma 105mm Macro
Marumi Ring Flash
