Heya guys, what camera do you rekon i should get as my upgrade?

It would need to be fairly well built, be compatable with loads of extras :)

Price range about £450 - £500 - £550

What sort of pixal range do you think i should go for?

I really would appreciate if you guys could help me out with this

Tony ;)

What have you got now? Anything that you may want to go forward with to another camera?

Right i have got a FUJIFILM FinePix S6500fd.

Why do i want to well build? because incase i trip over or whatever and it hits the floor. Like don't brake as easily, I could be perfect on my feet one day and tripping over all the time the next

Loads of extras as in like lenses

I want the camera for basically the weddings (when i am brave enough) landscape photography mainly though

OK, and what's wrong with it?

Then you need only 2 lenses, a 17-85MM (and a flashgun, and a tripod), for weddings, and an 85mm for landscapes.
'Loads of extras' are not neccessary as somehow I have a feeling you won't be getting them.
You will need a good camera bag or backpack, though. And a polarizer and a UV filter.

That's a nice reply!..

I would have said (presuming 1.3/1.6 crop) 10-20mm or 24-70 straight off (covering both), and maybe an 85mm prime for portraits.

When buying a body, you're buying into that brand. Think about choice of accessories and lenses, and think about the general ergonomic feel of the cameras.

Since I'm a canon user, heres the canon stuff I'd get.
Canon 400d - £370
Sigma 10-20 - £250 OR Canon 10-22 - £360
Sigma 24-70 - £220
Canon 70-200 f/4 L - £370
Canon 50mm f/1.8 - £55
Canon 85mm f/1.8 - £220
Tripod - £40
Bag - £50

Anything wider than 17/18mm (25.5/27mm in 35mm equivalent) gives unacceptable – read: ugly – perspective distortion to human faces and bodies. Therefore not suitable for weddings.

No camera is likely to survive being dropped unless you're very lucky, too much fine mechanics and electronics inside them. however you can buy 'body armour' for them which will help protect against knocks if you need it.

£550 is really too little for a decent dslr and one lens, you'll need to save up some more or do as others do and buy your kit a bit at a time.

Does the D3 fire bullets then?? :D

No..But then again neither do tanks. They fire Shells :lol:

On the subject of Bodies i think you are looking for the Mythical Nikcanontax D340DK20 Model.

While the may still break when dropped a Canon EOS 20/30/40D are much better built than 350/400D, ie metal rather than plastic body.

I bought a D200 for £502 off e-aby with about 5000 clicks on it. There is one for sale on here somewhere for £500 too

Calm down Alfred, don't accuse them of drinking too much just because they haven't got an SLR yet :p

benneh - Other than weddings, i will be using it for landscape photography

Didgi Widgi - Nah, i am saving up to go to go to astrailia next yeah :D
