which one??

I am new to the dslr world, have been using a sony cybershot 6mpg,12x super zoom for the past 5 years, wanting to upgrade to a dslr but am stuck with which camera, got a budget of about £800. Wanting camera for safari's-africa/india etc plus sunsets/sunrises/beach scenes/portraits basically everything, lol i have looked at all the following cameras but whilst they look good on paper, that dont mean they are good to use or deliver what they are said to. main focus obviously picture quality,image stabilisation preferably in camera body,live view,shoot in RAW.
Ok, so how do the following cameras compare:-
Nikon D200
Nikon D5000
Canon EOS 1000D/450D
Olympus E-520
Pentax K-m

Only one answer that doesn't start a brand war - get down to your local camera shop and play with a few different brands, then make your own mind up on what feels right to you. All DSLRs wil shoot raw. All DSLRs are capable of *much* better results than your cybershot but it takes practice.
P.S. You might wanna try this brand too.

i woudl recommend a sony a550. in body IS, raw, great pic quality. what sort of subjects will you be shooting? this will help on lens choice.

What about looking at the Canon 550D??

Brand new compared to the other Canons you mentioned!

think about a better camera but s/h you find so good deal about on here you might get something like a 40D or better for your money
