Hi all,
Looking for advice as to which camera to buy cannon 500 or nikon 5000 any recomendations. I have a budget of about £500.

I have the EOS 500 and am very happy with it, but I havn't used the Nikon so couldnt say which is the better of the two.
 
Just wondering, why have you narrowed down your choice to these two?

What is it about them that you like? Maybe if we understand this, we can consider which suits you more?
 
Go to a camera store that has them both and handle them,if one feels more comfortable in you're hand ,thats the one...............if not just come back here and discus again....................don't buy the dearer much much better camera the dealer will offer you..........:)
 
Try them both in the store. If you dont have any lenses from previous cameras or any particular brand loyalty then choose the one that feels nicer in your hands.

Have you considered something second hand like a 40d/d90?
 
Hi all, Thanks for the advice and I am going to go and try them out. Chris being very new to photography and knowing absoloutley nothing about cameras guess I have based my decsion on nothing other than reputation of the name, so thought that would be a good place to start.
