NIKON AF-S DX NIKKOR 16-85 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR - there are two second-hand ones available at my local camera store. I wanted the 24mm-85mm, as the one I bought for her indoors is a cracking lens. That was second hand demo model from Harrisons. Do I buy a NEW 24-85, wait until one turns up or is the 16-85mm just as good? I know that it is a DX and not full frame. Sal and I both have D7200's

have you looked at the nikon 17-55mm 2.8 it there best ever dx lens pro spec ??
if weight is a problem then i would go for there 16-80mm f4 great lens
far better than what your looking at.
also the nikon 24-120mm f4 is another great lens for the money

If you have two APS-C cameras in the family wouldn't a starting point of 24mm be a little restrictive for a zoom lens? IMO the 16-85mm makes much more sense.

We don't SHARE. Smiley face thing. Used the 24-85 at a race the other night and the range is just right. I know it's daft not to share lenses but ...

If the 24-85 is just right, then that's your question answered and as for sharing...………..god no!!!!! both me and the missus have D810 and D610 and don't share lenses, she would kill me if I damaged one of her babies

Just tried to buy a lens from e-infinity and there seems to be only one payment method - PAYPAL I don't have/want a PAYPAL account due to problems in the past, nothing to do with me by the way.

I don’t think you have to have a PayPal account, it’s just a way of them being able to take credit card payments I believe.

you can set Paypal to just use your credit card details or debit card details to make the payment. It stops these being passed to the supplier and gives you a second level of protection. use this all the time

Sod's Law - bought one from e-infinity and Harrison's (just up the road) have got a 24-85mm in today. Any problems and I could just pop in with it.
