Evening guys,

I'm eagerly awaiting my 80d at the moment and have started to look at what other goodies I might need.
We're going on a safari later in the year so I'd like to have a good few spare batteries but I can't really stretch to full price Canon ones as the cheapest I've found them is £60 each!

Obviously there's a huge number of non-branded ones out there so I'm unsure which to trust.

Which ones do you use and how do they perform?

Thanks

Ed :)

I once had some Phottix batteries for a Canon 350 which performed just as well as the genuine Canon ones, enjoy the safari, we did it in 2012 and loved every minute.

Ex-Pro, work just like the originals.

Ex-Pro across several systems (Fuji, Sony, Nikon), never let me down and at least as long lasting as OEM batteries.

I have a couple of Duracell batteries, one each for my EOS M and 7DII. Seem to be as good as OEM so far.

I use a mixture of genuine and white Ex-pro batteries on my Canon 5Ds. TBF I've had more failures with genuine ones.

Its funny, cause the only one I've ever had fail has been a third party one. Different luck I suppose.

I tend to use duracell. No real problems. Slightly fewer shots per battery but not enough to bother about

I bought a couple of Hahnel Extremes for my 5D mark II and they've been great, lasting longer than the OEM one I have.

I use Ex Pro and they seem as good as the Sony ones. In fact they seem to hold their charge for longer than the Sony batteries.

Ex-Pro here too, seem fine although I have did have one that was slightly oversized leading to a tight fit in the compartment

DSTE LP-E6. Batteries I use them in my 7d mkii without issues, shows battery levels, they are 2600 rated. And less than a tenner each from dx.com takes a while to get them so ,if you ate not in a hurry. Just bought 4 more as I am expecting a 6d soon.
