Yes
I'm interested in getting a decent bit of noise reduction S/W
Ideally for nowt (being a Yorkshire lad), but if its cuts the mustard then I might shell out a few beans..

What do you all use and opinions therof please?

I like Imagenomic Noiseware professional at $69.95 for the plugin version or $49.95 for the standalone.
It does a nice job.

I use Noise Ninja 2 and think it's great.

Check out the shot bellow.

This is with the 70-200 F2.8 at F2.8.
Plus i have filterd this with noise ninja 2 so it looks a lot softer.
This is a ISO 1600 shot.

I'll give that a crack and then maybe noiseninja.

PapaLazarou: Can we see the before and after please

Agreed, befores and after from any of them would be good. Digital Photographer this month recommends Noise Ninja and Neat Image, but as I have never used either, would be interested in seeing some results, as certain situations [for example, karate tournaments with my daughter] have lousy light levels and ISO needs upping a lot. :bonk:

I use Noiseware community edition occasionally. The only problem is that it automatically saves the file as a progressive jpg, which my website doesn't like. I probably should get the full plugin version sometime.

Interesting thread, some good suggestions guys, will have to have a look myself :)

Just tried the Imagenomic free one on an old shot of mine.

Oooh theres a difference for you :)

:agree: ... great before and after example ... ... and a lovely typical shot of a Redshank Lammie ... ;)

Might even give that a go myself ... :D

:p

Noise Ninja if I use anything at all.

I've tried Noise Ninja, Neat Image and Noiseware Pro and have found Noiseware Pro to be the best by far. Not that I use it much tho ;)
