Yes
I've got a D500, a Sigma Art 24-35 f2 for landscapes and 150-600 for wildlife, and I want a good medium zoom (FX-compatible to cater for future extra body) in the sort of 70-200 or similar range. I don't understand the Tamron lens designations, I am open to the idea of Nikon, Sigma or Tamron but I want the best possible (although not silly money). What would be the recommendations here?

My go to lens is the Nikon AF-S VR 24-120 f/4 which I find really good.

I did wonder about the Nikon 70-200 f4 but what about the 2.8, it is presumably better?
The Tamron 35-150 sounds a good fit with my existing glass - and the price point is good. Any gotchas or gripes about it?

Hi Graham - yes, bit of a dumb question really! Of course better, and certainly more expensive, bigger etc. Is it better enough for the cost in money, weight, size? But that is rhetorical really as even the grey price is a bit much for me I think.
I note that there's been no suggestion of a Sigma equivalent yet. I'm being drawn to that Tamron that Mark suggested...

The Nikon 70-200 2.8 e is spectacular in both price and performance. The only reason to opt for this lens is for that last 10/20% of AF performance - you have to try it to see how incredible it is. However - if you’re not going to need super fast and accurate AF then the tamron 70-200 2.8 g2 is probably the best value for money if buying new at the moment.

If you don’t need VR or super super fast AF and aren’t buying new - the best value is the Nikon 80-200 2.8 two touch. Optically brilliant and about 300 used

In terms of bang for your buck the 70-200 F4 is superb. I wanted a F2.8 but couldn’t justify it for the amount I’d use it so opted for the F4 and as it’s relatively small and light I sometimes pop it in my bag just in case (something I don’t think I’d have done with the 2.8 that weighs nearly twice as much).
