Yes
I could do with moving to a dslr, but would like to use my AFD lenses which are still in mint condition.
Which second hand Nikons would operate these? the focusing has to be driven from the camera body. Not too fussed about how many mega pixels, so older bodies will be ok for me.

Cheers

D70/80/90/100/200/300/300s/7000/700 and D1, D2 & D3 variants all contain AF motors in the camera body and should work fine with AF-D lenses.

Plenty to choose from then!
Thanks a lot :)

D50 would be the cheapest option I reckon, Fforbes had a used one for around £150 last time I looked.

Out of that lot, your best bang for the budget buck is probably the D200 (unless you can find an absolute bargain on a D300).

Pro construction, fast AF, has the 10-pin accessory port & flash sync sockets, great camera (I still use mine for shooting events with the WiFi grip).

The D300 is way ahead of the D200 overall (51 point AF vs. 11, up to 8fps continuous shooting mode with the grip, and other features), but depending on what you shoot it might not be much more useful.

Edit : Thanks chopchop, I forgot the D50 had the AF motor too.

I'd still go for a D200 over a D50 though. I went from a D50 to a D200 back in the day and its a lot nicer camera to use. Plus they are built like brick outhouses and will last forever.

Thanks for all the replies.
Had a look at the prices on e bay, and it looks like a D50 or D70 body for me.

I didn't think the D50 had a focus motor.

I believe it's the only Nikon ever released that had one which wasn't a Prosumer or better body.

There's a fuji S2 pro body on Ffordes for £99, Nikon F lens mount. The condition is described 'as seen', it could be worth an enquiry?
