It's got to the point where I want to upgrade my old monitor. Ideally I don't want to spend any more than £300. Have you any suggestions as there seems to be a wide variety of prices by different makers such as Dell and iiyama. So if it's only to tell me what you have bought recently, please comment. And, if you think I should increase my budget, please convince me.:)

Dell IPS panels always get good ratings. 2209WA (ebay user nrg_it for ~£170 refurb'd) or one of the following: U2311 (23"), U2412M (24"), U2410 (24"), U2711 (27") and 3008WFP (30") (although the last 3 will be out of your price bracket)

Will take a look at those thanks.

I use a Dell u2711 its pretty decent, has good connections although to use the 'Displayport' cable can give you some issues as computers are not too good with them yet.
Basically mine stopped receiving data when connected through this but pulling the power out and then putting it back in fixed it.

Its a good screen though, not as 'shiny' as apples but its supposed to use the same hardware inside and honestly who really wants a shiny screen as they are a pain the arse.

I imagine the smaller dell IPS screens are just as good.

Oh and I got mine from NRG from ebay as well, they were good when I got it as they didnt supply the correct cable but now they wont reply to my emails when I asked for some info on the poor displayport.

I recently purchased 2 of these from the ebay shop mentioned above, I'm really pleased with them, both pin sharp and a great size too, i was looking on there this morning but they don't have any left, but i know NRG have an outlet on Amazon.co.uk so may be worth looking on there, i think they were a little more expensive on Amazon but still worth the money in my opinion.

I have a 2209WA as well, it's great.

I'm leaning towards this one now which I can get for a very good price brand new. ;) Any drawbacks to this monitor that you can see. Dell UltraSharp U2312HM

Think the 2209 WAB has a black surround rather than silver.

Yep that's the only difference, i spoke to the rep from NRG-IT the other day and he said they are back in stock on their ebay shop, so may be worth a look, i got mine after quite a few members on here recommended them, and I'm glad i went with their recommendations, lovely bright super sharp monitor :)

My new Dell UltraSharp U2412M 61cm (24'') monitor VGA,DVI-DP (1920x1200) Black arrived today. *&£$^%%* heck, it's bright  My old Dell looks positively orange by comparison. Running the two of them side by side at the moment to see how it affects my editing:)

I've just brought a Dell UltraSharp U2312HM (the replacement for the U2311H), they're £202 on Amazon at the moment.
