As it says in the title, all your recommendations please as it is about time I did it properly. :)

The best I have found is either the eye-one display 2 or eye-one display LT.
They are both the same hardware just different software, with the display 2 being able to calibrate 2 monitors on the same computer, the LT can only do one, BUT the software is available to download to make them both the same. So buy the LT and download the latest software.
I have tried the Spyder series and Huey and couldn't get accurate profiles with them consistently. (Spyder have admitted that they have had issues with the tolerance of their sensors not being tight enough, rumer is they are releasing a Platinum version to address this.)

The choice is yours.

Kerso is selling all these now.

I use and find the Eye One Display 2 does the job nicely for me.

I use Huey Pro purchased a month or so ago from DD ... ... dead easy to install, set up and use and seems to do the job very well. It also offers on-going monitoring and adjustment whilst you work and the light changes as well as regular reminders to re-calibrate ... :D

Also means I can do both the monitor and my lappy so works out twice the value ... ...

:p

why limit yourself to monitor calibration?
if it's about time you did it properly get an eye1 pro, and do the printer and scanner too..
have a squint at www.colourconfidence.com:)

If your going to do that do it properly don't mess with eye one series (for printers), get a semiauto / auto scanner, go DTP41 DTP70 etc.

I upgraded my Huey to the Pro version recently ($40 via the US site rather than £40 from the UK one) and I have noticed an improvement in the calibration. I rarely need exact precision with colour so the Huey does the job nicely.

how are you going to calibrate a monitor with an X-Rite DTP41 ?? the point of the eye1 is it's flexibility. you cant hang a dtp41 on your screen...brill for printers etc...

As it says in my post (For printers) I know there good Ive got one.

Got an eye-one display 2 which I've calibrated several different makes of montiors on diffferent platforms and they're all cock on!

EDIT: About £130 from Dabs.

I have the eye one 2 here

both my desktop and my laptop are profiled with it

looks ok to my eyes

is the huey - non pro any good?

Yeah, does a good job. Not perfect but close enough if you're not worried about colours being absolutely perfect. The pro version does do a better job, esp. with lcds and can handle multiple monitors.
