I've had a tip off from one of Santa's elves that I may be receiving a tablet for Christmas. Is there any particular speed of Micro SD card I need to use with it.

Any advice appreciated

Not sure that speed will matter too much, reliability definitely, Sandisk have never let me down

Sandisk class 10 ones should do fine.

speed will make a difference when u use it for storing those photos and videos. but Class 10 should read and write at min 25mb/s so should be fine. Although if you have rooted tablet then you have options to use whats called hard-swap. which basically use a bit of your storage to act as memory for the tablet. You can use the internal flash but also the SD card. so the faster the SD card the better the performance. If you are not going to use the function then no matter

Thanks for advice. Much appreciated. BTW its a Samsung

I don't think the speed of the card is particularly relevant for a tablet but quality certainly is. I recently treated myself to a new Lenovo Yaga 10 tablet which can access up to 32GB microSD cards and made the mistake of buying a cheap card .... only to have to take it back and upgrade to a better make a few days later because the Yoga kept reporting the card had been "removed unexpectedly".

No problems with the Sandisk :)

I've gone for the recommended Sandisk above. I've learnt with things like memory buy cheap buy twice is the usual outcome

My Samsung Tab 2 did not like class 10 cards, had to use class 6, Sandisk have a compatibility checker on their site.
