Which manufacturers / cameras use the Pentax K mount?

I've got a Rikenon 50mm f/2 K mount lens that I'd like to put to use at some point. Other than Pentax & Ricoh, which other camera can I use it on (and any you'd recommend)? Then I can keep my eyes peeled for a bargain.

I know I can use it on my Lumix MFT camera with an adapter, but I'd like to stick it on a 35mm body (preferably one with a decent focus screen).

Thanks. :)

I've not used any K mount cameras other than Pentax, so can't give recommendations. But there is a known issue with some (all?) Rikenon lenses relating to an extra pin on the mount which has a habit of getting stuck on something in the straight K mount, leaving you with a lens jammed on camera. On that basis for a 50mm f/2 I would personally NOT mount one on any of my Pentaxes. (There may be a fix involving removal of the offending pin, though.)

Cosina made many K mount cameras and they are excellent pieces of kit - Cosina made cameras for Nikon, Canon, Zeiss, Voigtlander, Olympus and others.

Both the Cosina C1 and CT1 are readily available and remarkably cheap (£10 to £20 including lens in the UK).

I have a Cosina PM-1, it's fully manual and works like a charm. My only gripe is the focussing screen, which has a spotty focussing patch (this probably has a proper name) instead of a split-circle one, which I find easier to use. Chinon also made a few Pentax K mount cameras.

The spotty focusing patch is properly known as a micro-prism circle. I found they took a lot of getting used to but easy to use once you manage it.

The micro-prisms come into their own when there are no suitable edges for the split-image centre to work on.

Were you the one that had the KR-10 super pack up? I'm lucky as mine is still working (y) It might be better to switch to another make as Rikenon lenses are more scarce e.g. a Canon and Olympus 50mms are very cheap and so many 3rd party lenses for Canon as well as their own.

That's me.

I've heard that the Rikenon 50mm f/2 is very sharp, and the one I have is in really nice condition, hence the desire to give it a go on something. I might start visiting the car-boots again to see what turns up <don't tell my wife...>.

H'mm well there not many bad 50mm lenses around and usually debates centre around whether a 50mm f1.2 or f1.4 is better than 50mm f1.7\f1.8 etc
I've only got one Rickenon lens (scarce at the bootie) and it's 28mm, but have loads of Pentax zooms for my Ricoh camera.
