Which magazines do you read?

To be fair, Digital Photo is an excellent magazine when you're starting with digital. The Photoshop tutorials are invaluable and an endless source of tips, tricks and information. It's just that, over time, you find the same info get covered again and again. Not really a critisism of them though, just inevitable I guess

Yep - like the same questions over again on a forum ... they are to be expected :)

Digital Photo Pro is the only one I would buy on a regular basis. I used to buy loads every month but stopped and took out membership of the SWPP with the money I saved. The SWPP produce their own mag which is very good for those with an interest in the business side of things.

Normally the ones that arent in a plastic bag so i'm not disappointed by the boring trash that comes sealed inside.

i hope you're all gonna buy DSLR user on Friday ;)

I'll leave that up to your better judgement ;)

I've joint - won a competition in it this month (there were 2 winners and a runner up) - won myself a tripod that i don't need haha.

I subscribe to Practical Photography (did so to get a Lowepro Minitrekker AW) and I get Photography Monthly, although am going off that.

They do seem to repeat themselves.

Is worthwhile subscribing as the magazine gets a much higher cut of the cover price than it does if you buy it from the shop every month, so if you buy one religiously, subscribe.

Subscribed to DP as I said to the missus I kept going back to re-read the old ones. Since then only a couple of the newer ones have been read properly and not skimmed. I tend to wander into the local Tesco and pickup whatever takes my fancy.

I dont bother buying the mags, should I?

I've picked up a lot of theory and tricks over the years (must admit I find it strange how much I do know when reading many of the threads here) but really need to get more practise and learn to use the techniques. Its the practical application I'm poor at!

£5 for a sealed plastic bag of adverts is a lot of money to me (I still think a pint should be 70p) and I never see the point in bothering with them when the covers are hyping articles about latest fandango fairy tale camera bodies that I cant afford and editing techniques for photoshop software that I can't afford . . . do they have anything useful in them, worth £5 a month (or even 50p off the old issues stand on the market)?

Digital Arts (formally Digit) is very good. Also like Silvershotz. Great for inspiration

Don't read any particular mag. If one catches my eye I may buy it. Although the wife claims to throw away loads of mags every couple of months so I probably buy more than I should:lol:

I have a subscription for Digital Photo (it came with a 5 way reflector kit) its getting a bit repetitive now mind you.

and Big Jugs Monthly (its a pottery magazine, honest ) no only joking just Digital Photo :D
