Yes
Thinking of a macro lens, as I really like the pictures I can get with my Dad's when I borrow it, but I'm not sure what to go for.

I've got ~£100 off at Jessops due to Tesco Clubcard, so will be buying from there.

From the looks of it, I was thinking of going for a Tamron 90mm but I'm not sure of the general opinion on what's best.

From a look around, the reviews I've seen seem to be saying it's a pretty good lens, but what do you lot think? Is there a better lens I should go for?

The Tamron is about as much as I'm wanting to spend, so I can't go for the Nikon 105mm VR (I wish I could though), but is there a better lens than the Tamron for around the same sort of price bracket?

No.
It's the best available from Jessops at that price.

Another option might have been the Sigma 70mm but jessops don't seem to carry it in Nikon fit.

macro lenses tend to be great at what they do regardless of who makes them. There are differences though, for example minimum focus distance, barrel extension when focusing, weight, IS etc... those only make a difference to the user and very little to the images (depending on what you shoot).

If your budget is the limiting factor then go for the tamron 90mm and enjoy!

Have a look at Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX Macro lens- superb in my opinion

Les ;)

Would be nice, but it's about twice the price of the Tamron, and if I was going to spend that much, I would probably go for the Nikon 105mm.

Cheers of the opinions though all of you, seems like it's probably the right decision :)

Also, are there any lenses around that sort of price that don't extend when focusing and/or have some form of vibration reduction?

not afaik at that price.
The Nikon & Sigma Macro lenses with OS/VR cost substantially more & afaik Tamron & Tokina don't yet have Macros with stabilisation.
