Which lighting is best?

yeah sorry guys, came to the wrong place! I'm not trying to p*** any of you off, I hope you realise that.
Don't worry about p***ing anyone off, we're all grown-ups.

Now...

Do you want some cheap and nasty flash heads for free or not?

I wouldn't exactly say that everyone was acting like a grown-up though.
Thanks for the offer but I think I'd rather take this situation into my own hands and do as much research into what's suitable for my situation, I'd like to make a good decision and not just take up the first offer given to me (not in a rude way, I hope)

Your good decision seems to be ignore what you are being advised by those who know and are trying to help you and go with what you decided in the first place, the LED lights, or a really bad lighting kit.

So you want to spend £200 on really bad lights yet not take up Phil's offer of free lights that are probably a darn site better than what you will spend hard earned cash on.

Hmmmmmm.

please, just leave this forcefulness now, this thread is utterly exhausting. The advice is not meant to make all of you happy, it's meant to make ME happy and quite frankly, some of it I have taken, others I have rejected because it's not right for my situation. In between all of that, there is a lot of pressure and patronising hostility that makes me quite uncomfortable (and yes, other people too - I've had multiple messages from people letting me know that they think this is f*****g ridiculous too.)

Just because you want me to take his lights, doesn't mean I have to. It's a great offer but you do realise that I'm still having a look into things and considering other options - I'm not going to take it just because it's free. Sorry if it seems rude but he gave me the option to say no, and I did.

Also, I haven't completely settled on that kit - it was my one suggestion I mentioned once, yet I am still looking at other options the whole time (like I was when I first said about LED - this is a process.) I don't come back here to update you on everything I am looking at because as soon as I mentioned that kit, everything went in all sorts of horrible directions. Realise it was mentioned, not confirmed that I was buying it. Currently I'm looking at 3 different set ups - just putting that there because it seems to me that you all need to be updated 24/7

I think it would probably be best for this thread to be locked as regardless of what expert advice is being given, it's fair to say that Sydney knows her own mind and will make her decision accordingly.

For what it's worth....

If it were me, I'd look to collaborate with local people - models and amateur/upcoming photographer get pics and you get the desired pics for your business.

Failing that I'd take up Phil's generous offer and practice/get the shots. You've list nothing other than the time taken to do the shots and in new businesses money/budget must be important.

That's just my opinion.

I wish you luck in your venture and hope it works out for you.

This roundabout needs a break

Well folks - I've just had a read through this thread and I have to say, there's been some really great advice handed out here... Gary and the Two Pauls in particular have had some really good points, along with lots of others. There's even been an example of the amazing generosity found in this community from Phil (along with his usual good no-nonsense businesslike advice I may add).

However, Sydney has made her position clear, and, to save this thread now spiraling downhill from the frustrations of some members, I think the sensible thing is to lock the thread for further contributions.

Sydney... I wish you well with your business, and if you find that your solution works for you I'll be truly happy... This thread will still be here if it doesn't, and perhaps you'll return and read through the advice given again before making a second purchase. And, if you need further advice, I'm sure that (perhaps surprisingly) most of the participants here will still be happy to help... they really are a good bunch of people, talented, creative, skilled business people who've "been there and already done it".

Mind the doors folks.
