Hi, so I use a Nikon D5100 and my mum uses the Nikon D5200. Mum's decided she wants to buy a new lens, compatible to both our camera's. I think its best that we get a zoom lens for convenience reasons, which mum agree's with. We have narrowed it down to 2: The Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED VR lens and the Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC P2D AF lens.
Just wanna check if the Tamron is compatible with our lenses?? It says that it is compatible with Nikon, but i'm just not sure if they're compatible with the D5100 AND D5200.
I prefer the sound of Tamron because it has a wider range of focal lengths and aperture and its only £240 quid in some places. Also, do you reckon that the aperture will be wide enough at f/3.5 to take photos in relatively low light (I.E family photos indoors)? Asking for my mum who is only really using the lenses for family photos. I'll be using them for wider purposes for my photography course etc.
Any comments on these lenses or recommendation of which one to get or other ones to look at?
Help is appreciated!
