Hi,

Just after a little advice really, I have been asked to take some sport photos of a rugby game and a hockey match.

My normal speciality is virtual tours, and I don't really have that much expertise in sports photography.....I intend to rent a lens for now just to get the first job done, I would like some advice on which lens or lenses I should be looking at if you kind people could help me.
I have a Nikon D7000, ok...yes ideally I would love a different camera for this job but that's what I have
Can anyone suggest anything that would suit my camera and the job at hand?!

Thanks,

Neil.

Nikon 70-200 immediately springs to mind. You might end up wanting one permanently though. Be warned!

I was going to ask the size of the pitch but it isnt really going to make that much difference if your only going to hire one lens and have one body. Usually you would go armed with a long telephoto 300mm or 400mm and then somthing shorter on a 2nd body 70-200. With 1 body I would go with a 70-200 f/2.8.

If you're budget doesn't run to £1200 the 70-300VR is a very good lens for the money

Again, I'd echo the above and add that there are plenty of threads on the Sport forum here that will give you an idea on settings:thumbs:
