Hi, I wonder if anyone could help?

I have been pricing up to get our villa photos done by a pro but wonder if the money might be better spent on a wide angle lens for my nikon d60?

We would want to achieve the same wide angle view as a friend of ours, who's photos are here:

http://www.orlandopremiervilla.com/photo-gallery

Do you think this would acheived with something like a 12-24 or would my 18-55 kit lens do the job, at it's widest?

Many thanks:thumbs:

You could always get a Sigma 10-20. Also like the above mentioned. Try your kit lens at home, then stitch said shots together.

The home in the link looks like a great place to holiday btw

*EDIT* Alternatively you could rent one from http://www.lensesforhire.co.uk/nikon-wide-angle-17-c.asp

Will have a look at the Sigma 10-20! Probably not cost effective to hire one and take with us as getting the pros out there to do it would only cost about £100 and I could save myself the time. I may be able to justify a new lens to hubby if I save the £100 for pro photos .

Why not take a few photos and stitch them I think it might look better and CHEAPER lol
You will need tripod and what about lighting?

When we first did pics 3 years ago, I stitched compact photos together and it took AGES (no tripod! - arghh) They are actually quite embarrassing in comparison with the pros, the stitching is soo obvious:bonk:.The result was nowhere near as good as the other link (the compact/stiched photos = http://www.florida-courtyard-villa.com/gallery.htm:nuts:). the pro ones make the rooms look so much bigger!

Definitely going to take my tripod and what they do over there is close all blinds and turn on lights to photograph the interiors. Not sure what else I would need for lighting (could happily use long shutter speed if on tripod)

Problem is we have 12 days and a list of jobs as long as our arms (as well as trying to cram in som R & R in the Florida sun - I wish eh?!?:bonk:).
