Hi

Im torn between two leses for everyday use at the moment a Sony DT 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 or A Tamron 18-200 f/3.5-6.3 .
does any one have any experience of the two, what would any one recommend, Camera is a Sony Alpha 500?:help:

Cheers

The Sony 18-250 is surprisingly good, I used one on a A350 and its very good for what it is.

How would a Sony compare for sports use to replace my Sigma 70-300mm (the one with the now stripped gears, grrr!). I got some cracking rugby action shots with the Sigma, but it's now bust and I'm loathe to go back to one. Considering an 18-250 / 270mm Tamron or Sony if it can be had for a little bit more money (depending where you look) than buying the Tamron or Sony 70-300mm. WOuld also allow me to flog the Sony 18-70mm kit lens...

Consider the new Tamron 70-300 VC USD (no VC for Sony though) if it's out in the UK. By all reports so far it looks like it can rival the Sony 70-300 G for IQ, at least come close. In the same price range as the Sony 18-250.
