Which Is Your Most Used Lens

My 70-200 f4L is my most used lens by far.

At the moment the most used is the 24-70 F2.8L, but that may change now I've picked up a 70-200 F2.8L IS :D

Either the sigma 17-70 or the nikon 70-300 VR, probs be the sigma as its on the camera in the bag :) .

Used to be my Sigma 17-70 but I replaced it with a 10-20 and a 24-105L as I wanted to go wider and longer (ooh err). The 24-105 stays on most of the time (the IS is a godsend sometimes) but I always take the 10-20 with me, when you need to get wide you just can't beat it

You do realise they are only £219, and about £170-180 on ebay 2nd hand? :)

I'll be lucky to find a 2nd hand one in an A-Mount tbh and £219 is £219 more than I've got at the minute (car troubles).

Sorry i worded that wrong, i didn't mean *only* £219, i just got the impression you thought they were a lot more.

Im having mind block, what camera is A-mount? Sorry to hear about the car, its not a rover is it?

Canon Kit Lens 18-55 is my most used lens by far. Really should upgrade it to one thats a bit better, but I find it plenty sharp enough :) 17-40 one day maybe ;)

A-Mount is Minolta/Sony. Not much 2nd hand stuff around and what there is is fetching silly prices. Not a Rover but a Rusty Vectra which is getting old and leaking like an OAP ;)

Depends what I'm doing. For sports & aircraft, I'll use the Siggy 120-300 f/2.8 with/without the 1.4xTC. For everyday stuff, I'll use the Nikon 18-200VR which is such a handy lens.

If I got the either the Nikon 17-55 or 28-70  , it probably wouldn't come off unless the big beast was being used.

70-200 here

The 70-200 2.8 VR is my fav lens, although I'm getting to grips with our 105 VR macro atm, so that's my most used lens right now. (Not that I've had much time to play with it yet!)

Most used is my Canon 300 F/2.8L IS at the weekends for sport and airshows etc..

Through the week odd jobbing my 70-200mm F/2.8L IS

This 70-200 is the new 10-20 isnt it :( everyone seems to have one and says how great they are, so now I want one! Damn you all :p

For regular walkaround stuff - the Sigma 24-70mm which I still love. It stayed on the camera all day at the wedding on Saturday and frankly the 70-300mm sigma that I took "just in case" was no more than ballast!

Had to say though - if I had to choose just one lens to keep and have to give the rest away, that 70-200mm f2.8 IS would win hands down. Love it! (Sorry Jimmy! :p )

Depends Cars mainly 300mm, bikes mainly 400mm primes. but at most events all three lenses get used, i really need a second body.

Sigma 150mm F2.8:thumbs: Its basically my walkabout lens. but then I do spend most of my time walking (and crawling) around fields looking for insects. The kit 18-55mm would come behind that, then the 10-20mm which I havent used much at all yet, although I suspect i'll use it more when I get some decent filters for it.

Glo this was certainly a good follow on thread for mine. Do you detect that the majority of the responses were in actual fact loving their 70-200mm f2.8's (or Sigmas)

I think I am pretty certain now which one I (erm... Geoff) will save up for:lol: :naughty:

Yup sure do :D
Im pretty certain Im going to go for F2.8 too.

Now, I wonder if Santa can deliver in August! ;)

Now dream on Glo.... :D I tried that one with hubby Geoff if you remember. Yes he agreed I can have one.....

.....on the condition I wait until Christmas. It is only that he knows my next Wedding is in June 2008:'( :rules:

:woot: 300mm f/4 is usm L
with the 1.4 converter...

 i love it

but would like the 70-200 f/4 is L one day....

Gilly ... tell Geoff that Santa (roughly translated as W.E ) does 'buy now pay later' :naughty: :D

Sshhhhh! I am one step ahead and working on that move. :naughty: However, in the past (January this year - he let me buy my 5D with 24-105mm L IS) it costs me dearly. I had to let him have a new X-Box:nono: No wonder we are skint - him really

Got to be my 70-200 f2.8 but thats because I mostly shoot football, but now with my move to Australia and todays purchase of the Sigma 10-20 I have a feeling that will be on the camera a lot!

My favourite is my 60 f/2.8 Macro. Not only does it produce wonderfully sharp macro shots but IMO it's a pretty good substitute for my old 50 f/1.4. This is followed by the 70-200.

This may change soon though when I get my mitts on a 150 f/2.8 Macro :D

For me it has to be the 300 f2.8 L
fabulous piece of glass

with the 1.4 tc if required

On the rare days that my camera sees daylight just lately, it's my kit lens which is the 28-80mm that I mainly use, followed by the 10-20mm then the 70-300mm. I very rarely use my macro lens - maybe something to do with not liking creepy crawlies

Am I the only person relieved there are no butterflies around? :woot:

Most of my shots taken in the last year or so have been with the 420f4IS... or more precisely the Canon 300f2.8IS+1.4xTCII

Most time spent on camera = 50
Most photos out of town = 70-200 or 300
Most photos in town = 24 -105

At a guess the 100-400. The 24-70L probably has more time on the camera over the year but most of the events with the high shot counts (Goodwood, RIAT etc) will be with the 100-400.

Facetious - me the most used lens......

the one just behind my cornea and in front of my retina, it woks brilliantly, is all seeing and i never have to keep it dust free or worry about filters :p

good thing about lightroom is you can seach by lens type too...and the 24-70L is winning...!

Currently its my Sigma 10-20 but that may change over the next few days/weeks I've just ordered the 70-200 f2.8 VR.

Not even an ND filter in bright conditions?

Michael.

He does put two sliding lens caps on at night though

Out of the 2 i currently have....

I'd say the kit lens out of the two of them :)

However, with every one one talking about the 70-200mm 2.8f makes me want to get one   :nono:
