Hi All

Just curious here, so after some expert advice.

Can someone advise me which would be better suited to lighting a white-out background - a softbox, or a reflector brolly...? or perhaps even something different...?

Also - something that I was advised about some time ago - but need clarification on regarding reflecting silver lined brollies. If the reflector brolly is held in its location further away from the flash unit, compared to moving it closer to the flash unit; will the spread of light be greater or less...? Which way around is it to achieve the greatest spread of light from the reflector brolly - closer I thought...? Am I right?

All advice appreciated, thanks.

Two softboxes, at least: to counter light fall-off.

Depends on the flash gun's light beam projection angle/spread.
