I bought PhotoDynamic HDR and am very pleased with it
You can download and use it free of charge - it puts a watermark across the bottom but it's not as big as the watermark on Photomatix and allows you to get a better idea of your pic.
It also seems to give a much more neutral picture than Photomatix - if you use the pre-set options properly.
Yes I have the trial... really really like it, but the preview window is so small?
I mean the live preview window. Whilst you are tonemapping.
In photomatrix its huge. On Dynamix its quite small?
If you look at the bottom of the preview window there are three buttons.
Quick = the size that you see.
2xFine = twice the size in a seperate window
Full = will open the preview full size in a seperate window

I would go for photomatix, it keeps proving itself to be the best for me.
There are various discount codes floating around. The one I would use it "VanillaDays" to get 15% discount.

Seconded!.
I have tried most of the rest and although some are quicker, and some are simpler none produce the same results for me, IMHO theres nothing out there to touch Photomatix at the moment.
Another, although I have not trialled it yet, is Artizen HDR.

It comes as stand alone or plugin, £27 & £20. This has a trial version and video tutorials, so it might be worth a look.
Yes I do use it sometimes but I prefere the more subtle "feel" of photomatix, I have found a few issues with Dynamic photo HDR, such as banding if I use stronger settings, it's big advantage is it's speed and I like the post processing (photo bee) with it's little planets option, but for pure quality I personally prefere Photomatix.
