Hi all,
I am making a laptop tray, using a PDF base and glueing a cushion to the underneath. I have some PVA creative glue, and like the Idea of it being easy to spread. Or would this not be suitable?

MDF sounds a lot better. Think I would have problems with PDF !!!

I'd use double sided carpet tape, then it could be removed for cleaning :)

Been looking at the spray adhesives suggestion, haven't seen them before, sounds good. Any recommendations as to which Make?

Double sided carpet tape, never thought of that neither. Would that peel of both the MDF and the cushion without making a mess?

Doubtful especially if left attached for a long time, can bond quite well carpet tape.

Why not use velcro?

... then you need to figure out how to stick that. :)

At least, as above, you will be able to clean the cushion.

Cover the tray with something wipeable and do the same for the cushion then fix the cushion to the tray with upholstery nails.

Ties at the four cushion corners going through holes in the tray corners.

You can get very good "heavy duty" wide velcro which is good for solid surfaces but I'm not sure it would work on a cushion.

Copydex wouldn't stick s*** to a hankie.

Man up - only whimps would use a cushion!!!

Just letting you all know that I went down the spray adhesive route which seems to be O.K only thing is that at the moment I can still smell the adhesive when using the tray. My thinking behind that was, I will be able to use the remainder on other jobs.
I have also ordered OMENS suggestion for the Belkin Laptray. I can then use the homemade laptray as an ordinary tray when needed.
Thank you all for your help/advice.
