Which Glass do you use?

Just ending my night shift, and its come to me...what glass do you use for your glamour / portrait work.

I have the nikons 50mm / 18-70mm / 70-300VR - would love the 70-200VR lol....I have heard 85mm is a good focal lenght for work.

So what glass do you use?

I dont do that kind of work, but I think both Nikon''s 85mm lenses are ideal for it. The 1.8 is a quite a bit cheaper, so that may fit your budget better. It's an excellent lens, but the 1.4 is an absolute gem!

I use a mixture of 50mm f/1.8, 80-200mm f/2.8D (if there is enough room) and sometimes 60mm f/2.8

I second that! I bought a (lightly) used 85mm 1.4 a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had the chance to use it in anger yet but my first impressions from some hasty test shots are very encouraging. It handles beautifully and the dof at 1.4 is a revelation to me! Can't wait to give it a proper go.

I use only three lenses: 24mm f:2.8, 50mm f:1.8 and 85mm f:1.8 - but mostly the middle one.

Glamour and Portrait? 70-200/2.8 IS is always my first choice for studio work. 85/1.2 L is my first choice for outdoor work but the 70-200 is still with me. It is a great lens!

Nikon 35-70mm f2.8 and the Nifty Fifty would be the ones I'd use.
