Good afternoon everyone, i hope you are all doing good. Im new to the forum and im also brand new to photography (started in December). I wanted to ask your opinions of which genre would this kind of shot would fall in to please if thats possible, im unsure if this image could be slotted into a particular genre or if its just random nonsense. Im fortunate to live only 3 miles from the Forth bridges and go down that way frequently. Opinions and advice is very much appreciated.

Nice shot, I like that. I'd call it urban landscape I think... possibly street, although my understanding of street photography is that it's more about the people?

I'm sure someone more experienced than me will be along shortly to put us right! :)

Thanks Kerry, yeah i first thought maybe some sub genre of street but i think urban landscape sounds like it could be a good shout :giggle: (y)

Hey, that's ace! I enjoy how the composition, tones and shallow depth of focus all hang together to make the shot. I think you got lucky here? Keep working on it!

You chose an aperture, & you chose where to focus??? I wouldn't worry about genre, myself ...

Urban landscape "Bokeh"

It's different, different is good. Some of the finest photos don't really fit into a 'genre'.
