Hi all, I'm new to this forum. My name is Shaun and I live in Lancashire. I'm a hobby photographer at the moment but hoping to up my game and venture into portrait photography.
I have a Nikon D90 and a D80 plus a YTongnuo YN-467II flash unit and a set of RF-602 trigger/receivers.

I'm after a new flash unit to supplement the 467 and am looking at these -
Meike MK900
YN-560III
YN-565EX
YN-568EX

The MK900 appeals to me at the moment due to its similarity with the SB900.
The Yongnuos because I already have Yongnuo kit. If I get the 560III then I won't need another RF-602 receiver should I wish to use both flash units off camera. The 565/568 units would give me off camera iTTL but I'd need to buy a 622n set up.
Is there an obvious reason to chose one of the above over the other 3?

Many thanks.

But it's not getting great reviews, and apparently it doesn't support HSS. Out of the ones you mentioned i would be going for the YN-568EX.

The Nissin range is also worth a look, either the di622 or di866
+1

I've got two nissins and two sb900's

Worked great with my d90 and cls. Some of my favourite shots have been with that combo.

Also still use the nissins with the d800

Toying with the idea of selling up the nissins though to fund a studio head.

The only thing with the Nissan DI866 is it's around £200, and you can pick up a good used SB900 for around that now.

I was also thinking about one of these?

SR I thought the 622 was only wireless slave.
so camera in master can fire the ittl system. is it worth it as a main flash as it seems a little feature lacking (screen and control)

I used my two nissins ttl via cls on the D90 (one of my fave pics of my daughter was with this combo and an sb900) the nissins were the di6122 mk 2

Used it as a main flash - good but not as good as the sb900 (reflected in the relative price points)

Hope that helps

please correct me if i am wrong, this can be used without ttl triggers providing there is a line of sight. The d80 should fire the ttl wireless through the pop up and cls system ?
is there another flash apart from the nikon that do that?

Not sure about the d80 but the d90 controlled three groups via the pop up. There was a website which listed cls compatible speedlights but can't remember it.....should be on google!

But that is in the cls set up on the D90, so in theory you wouldn't need it.

Yes sorry didn't mean to hijack as such. I am also on the look out and may get rid of a light to fund.

I just came across this Oloong SP-660ii and it is about the same price as the Yongnou.

As the OP I'm still undecided. If only Yongnuo would put a wireless trigger in the 565EX or 568EX :-)
Yes, it's a decision hell! :D

I've just slipped out of my misery by deciding to skip current remote control (Phottix Plato) and having ordered a kit of two Yongnuo RF-603 with a Nikon camera release cable and the YN560-III flash.

As it's intended to be used for macro photography, a handfull of L- and C-brackets, some hotshoes and a softbox has also been ordered. Sigh.
