Yes
I'm after something to replace my Sony HVL-F56AM after moving to a Canon 50D.

Feature's I'd like:
1) Decent amount of power for bouncing off tall ceilings. The F56AM (guide number 56) was good, so something similar would be nice.
2) AF assist light.
3) Decent swivel-ability.
4) Good degree of manual power settings.

Obviously the Sony did lots more, TTL, strobe, wireless TTL, etc. but I'm not too bothered about those.

Budget: Between £60 and £100

I've been looking at something like a 540EZ, they go for ~£60 on eBay. But not sure if they will do AF assist on a 50D?

What else should I look at?

I would say save up a little more and find your self a second hand 480ex, these go for not much over your budget.

you'll be looking at nissin/yonguo for that money, 580 does it all but is 350 new and still well over budget s/h

i ve got the sunpak pf30x , works fine with my 50D .

ESHTAL, did you have to get the PF30x upgraded to work with the 50D? I have a PF30x that worked fine with my 20D, but doesn't like the 50D I've now moved to. The Sunpak website says it's compatible (and yours works) so I guess there's a fix? Any info you've got would be very welcome.

Thanks

Jessops 360AFD?
The system at Jessops say that they are not compatible but apparently they've fixed this compatability issue, so i'd be tempted to go to a local jessops store and try one on.

They're £79 sometimes reduced to £69. Does ETTL, Manual, etc.
