Hi,

I have some Fuji Pro160s, Fuji Pro160c and some Kodak Pro EKTAR100, all of which I have never used before but was wondering which would give the best results when taking a group shot.

I understand that there are more variables to consider but in comparison which film stands out above the others in terms of light/shadow & colour saturation etc...

Regards.., :)

And a merry xmas to one and all.

Happy Christmas to you too.

I personally haven't used any of the films you mention as I shoot in black & white, but I understand the Fuji 160 S is better than the C version for portraits as it produces a more natural skin tone.

The Kodak Ektar 100 offers more saturated colours and very fine grain. It is a well regarded film from photographers who have used it, but it sounds like it may be more suited for landscapes rather than portraits.

Close your eyes and pick a Fuji. Ektar is a bit finicky to use (I find) and not so great for skin tones as the other two. I don't think you'll find much difference between the Fujis really, not with a shot where the overall amount of skin on the frame isn't huge. The little extra speed will allow you to squeeze a little more depth of field out of your aperture setting too.

Cheers for the advice, much appreciated.
