Which eye do you look down the viewfinder with?

Just curious after reading a few replies on another thread, which eye do people use to look down the viewfinder?

Personally, I use my left eye so that my right eye is covered up by the camera - it also feels a bit more natural for some reason.
 
Right eye, because the left eye is lazy and I have nystagmus in both eyes too (though it is controllable) :)
 
Hmm no choice for those of us who alternate depending on mood and where we are or is that just me:shrug:
 
Left eye and even though I tried to switch I soon went back to Left :shrug:
 
I use my right eye but I always keep both open, important when shooting action as you don't want to miss anything or get hit by anything!!

Right handed and always looked through with my right eye with left eye open. Is there a supposed benefit to using your left eye?
 
Just tried it with my left eye and all I can see with my right eye is the back of my camera and my hand.

For me it forces me to close my right eye which makes me focus more on the viewfinder. + it just feels more natural.
 
Left Eye Right Handed.

Astigmatism in my right eye means nothing seems in focus.

Just gone to contacts but no change. Just feels more comfortable that way :D
 
Why are people surprised that most use the right eye?
SLR's are designed with the viewfinder to the left, I've always assumes that's so you can shoot with your right and see with your left.
 
Left eye, right handed. I must say I always assumed everyone did, never really paid much attention!

That said my eyesight is better in my left eye, up until recently I needed glasses to correct it so that's probably why! For that reason I close my right eye too, saves my left trying to compensate :D

People who use their left eye must have very small noses :shrug:
i use my right because it's more natural to do so and no.....i don't have a big protruding hooter :lol:
 
well aint that a danged shame
right eye lets you keep your left eye open
you get clearer viewing and no headaches/eyeache

watch a pro he always has both eyes open...even glazed at times
 
Left eye for the simple reason that I have virtually no sght in the right, not a problem brain is used to it

Regarding the nose smudge issue, I leave the plastic protector on my LCD screen, solves the issue :lol:
 
I'm one of these people who don't have a dominant eye. Caused all sorts of fun and games when I was using firearms! I tend to shoot guns right handed and right eyed simply because they are manufactured like that (most of the time)

For cameras I can use either eye equally badly! :) But I do find ergonomically the right is easier to use, especially in portrait mode but if I have to use my left it's not a problem.

some models have a reversing swinging rotating hydramatic automatic dynamatic greased lighting viewing screen...:geek:
 
I feel so weird - I honestly don't know and there's no camera around to check. Must just be a natural instinct whichever I use.

Will find out later!
