Yes
I'm interested in a DSLR but would like to use my old but mint AFD lenses.
Which current or second hand DSLRs would be suitable?
I don't mind having to manual focus if need be.

Thanks a lot
Garry

Easier to tell you which to avoid!

D40 and 40x
D60
D3000
D5000.

All of these are still useable if you're happy manually focussing though. All I'll say is that with the standard focus screens, manual focus isn't as easy as it used to be with microprism and split screen screens. The narrower angle between close and infinity focus on most AF lenses makes it even less easy. Still possible but not as easy as it used to be in the good old days!

D70 or D70s, or a D50, the more modern stuff below a D90 doesn't autofocus with AFD lenses.

Funnily enough even though I'm a 4/3 user I was looking at a second hand D50 in London Camera Exchange in Leamington Spa today, at £199, with lens it looked good value compared to ebay. I have a few AfD lenses hanging around which I'd quite like to try out on a Nikon body.

Thanks for the replies.
Spotted a couple of D50s on e bay which I'll keep an eye on.

Cheers Garry

Depends on your budget, but I'd highly recommend the D90.

I recommend a D90 myself, but surely a D80 auto focuses on AFD lenses too? ;) I know from first hand experience!

Like Nod said, basically anything except...

D40 and 40x
D60
D3000
D5000

Should be fine with AF-D lenses.
