Hi all,

can anyone suggest a good Point and Shoot camera. My sister wants to upgrade her old Fuji but she's not sure which to go for. I read a few reviews on the IXUS 80 but it doesn't appear to be that great. She would like something small but that has some manuaL features so that she can tinker with the setting a little to customise for certain picture requirements.

Look forward to any comments.

I have an ixus 4.0 and until i got my dSLR i thought it rocked. It still rocks image qualitly is top for such a small camera. However, after using the dSLR i found the manual controls a bit too basic and wanted more zoom.

So i have ordered the canon G9, Its still small and compact but has 10x optical zoom and manual settings. Its almost like a small and compact bridge camera.

i would suggest going and playing with them in your local camera shop and seeing which ones have the features you want.

The G9 is a great camera, check out some reviews, just google it. Its generally thought of as one of the best compact cameras ever. I have tried it, and its lovely, and soon I shall buy one.

Thanks peeps,

will check out the Canon and Kodak. ;)

I'm still trying to get hold of the guy that sells the RedSnapper Tripod and heads. I sent an e-mail but alas still no reply. Does anyone know how much the Tripod, head and bag comes to?

Just got my Tripod from Joe at Red Snapper about £98 for Tripod, Ball Head and Bag

Another vote for the canon G9, with its auto and manual settings its a good all rounder.
