I have a few quids worth of amazon vouchers from Christmas and have been looking at buying either the messenger boy 4000 or the muffin top 5500.

I own a canon 500d and a couple of lenses so I don't need the biggest bag in the world but I can't decide if the mb4000 will be big enough for the camera with lens attached and my spare lens. Anybody care to offer an opinion or recommendation I would be extremely grateful as I am going crazy looking at the pics on Amazon :bang:

Hi Mat, I love Crumpler and have several items from them but not my camera bag. I would recommend you trying to see some in the flesh, so to speak. I have found that they are rather generous regarding what each one will hold in their descriptions so definitely worth trying your kit in a few if you can.

Welcome to the forum by the way!

Best wishes,

Tracey

I am pretty sure my first bag was a muffin top 3000, held the 500D with kit lens and the 50mm, I could also rest the 580EXII flash on top and close the flap. batteries memory card and a few other bits went in the pocket on the front no problem. I think I had a 20oz bottle of coke in there with just the camera before I bought the other bits.

I would buy the bigger of the 2 they are not much bigger but you will always want to carry a bit more.

Cheers guys - I am still undecided but that is par for the course to be honest - a friend has told me that there is a Crumpler store in meadowhall so I will go for a look this week

Crumpler Muffin Top 7500?

I use this to carry my 40d with 17-55 attached.
70-200
and either
580EXII or 10-22.

There is room for some cleaning bits and bobs spare battery.

Can take some pics and mail you if you want, PM me.

Went to Meadowhall today and the largest camera bag they had was the messenger boy 4000 - so much for the Crumpler Store being a help :-(

I have a Muffin Top 5500. Fits my ungripped 5D with 50L + hood attached in a top loader style as well as another lens in one corner and a few small accessories like filters/spare battery. I never use the front slip pocket but that's an option for more tat too lol.

It should feel relatively cavernous for your 550D considering the outer dimensions of the bag.

Cheers Kenny - the pics are great - given the kit in there you must rate Crumpler's from a quality perspective.

Well I was on Amazon today and saw a green/red Crumpler New Delhi 390 for £27.99 delivered so I decided at that price I couldn't resist. Size wise I think it will be just right - thanks for all the comments and advice guys.
