The sister phoned me up today and said 'hey! which compact?'.

I replied 'i've no idea'

She replied 'but you have tonnes of camera crap, you must know what to do'

But i havn't bought a compact in a few years.

Whats the deal at the moment and who is offering the best deal. Slimline handbag camera (NOT a powershot sized camera)...ixus size. Don't care a about mega pixels, £150 maximum, picture quality is the bottom line.

Mate of mine on my recommendation (What a fool) bought one of the Sony W series compacts for about that price and he is well pleased with it

How about these. I have the Fuji f40fd the only difference is the colour, mines silver the blue where marketed by Argos. It does give good image quality and as a descent screen and at that price offers great value for money.

the panasonics are suppose to be good - dpreview has a pretty ok section on this, quite polarised.

The canons are pretty good on full auto mode - the ixus 80 is ok
