Which compact printer for elderly relative Xmas Gift

Having spent 90 minutes talking my wife's grandmother through the printing machine at Target last time we were over in the US I think it may be a good idea to buy her one of these compact printers which churns out 6x4 prints. Just wondered which is considered the best and has reasonable running costs.

Needs to have built in card reader and mini screen so she can see what the pictures are before she hits the print button.

Would they be suitable for an octogenarian.

I organised an HP printer with a docking P&S camera for a 70-yr-old friend and I don't think he's ever used it.

Bought the same thing for a lady in her 40s and she and her kids have slowly got up to speed with it.

I've got one of the better HP printers with screen and internal storage, plus an early Epson which isn't really standalone. The lag and slightly cryptic screen prompts make this kind of gear frustrating for "normal" peeps.

The 6x4 print size is ideal -- some normal folks get flummoxed if sent anything larger and maybe feel they have to frame them or something.

Ordering online via SnapFish with collection from a branch of Klick would be cheapest, though Klick have recently folded so I hope SnapFish partner with someone else. Nevertheless, the convenience of your own machine is great when some snaps are suddenly needed for sending to an elderly relative.

Unfortunately she is based in the US and only has dial up internet so sending images via net is not really an option. Postal is one possibility but may be more work than I want to get involved in shipping a memory card back and forth across the atlantic.
