Hi all
Looked at a few cameras today and picked the D500 around £1100 and the D7200 £500 new.
Had a play with the 18-300 and the 200-500 lenses but the 200-500 was a bit out of my price range.
Want it mainly for wildlife when I go out walking so is the 500 worth double the 7200 if so what would be another good lens for it.
Or is the 7200 as good with a decent lens.
Cheers
Shane

D7200 is about £700 and the D500 is about £1500, best prices...

Not sure those prices are right, even grey prices. D500 is just over £1200 from panamoz and the D7200 just under £700.

Is the D500 worth double the price of the D7200? Depends on the individual. The AF system, FPS and buffer are very impressive and certainly make a strong case, as does the bigger viewfinder, tilt screen and build quality.

As for lenses, the Gen 1 Tamron 150-600mm is arguably sharper than the Nikon 200-500mm at the long end (depending on which review you read), especially at 550mm. The Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary is a strong contender too, especially when bought with the dock. I have the Tamron and I’m very happy with it. It’s lighter than the Nikon too.

A little shop in Beverley were I live they go for £500 to £600 in most places around here.

Buy from somebody like e-finity and you are looking at £569 for the D7200 and £1139 for the D500

Personally I would rather buy from a UK based supplier due to warranty

Mike
I wouldn’t have any issue buying from panamoz, their warranty is first rate.

I don’t have any issues were they come from to be honest if I can get it Cheeper better for me.
Cheers

Sorry I wasn't meaning that, just wondering why they're so cheap (y).
