No
I've got a budget of around £130 ish pounds. From my research I'm looking at the:

fuji f50fd
sony dsc w90
canon ixus 75

I've heard good things about the panasonic lumix range? basically I just want the best camera I can get for my money, the main thing is image quality, not really fussed about how hard the camera is to use or how small the camera is but I am intrested in how long battery life is etc though.

Can you guys recommend me any others .. or which one of those 3 I should choose?

thanks in advance

p.s. i'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move. :)

I use an older IXUS, never had a problem with it. Ive used it every where extreme cold, heat, damp. Fits easy in a pocket for family do`s. Put it this way I`ll probably buy another if this breaks. Oh and the quality is good too.

Yeah the IXUS seris is good, I have a 65 and 70 and they are great :)

I've read good reviews about them all, but when I look at the pics on flickr the sony w90's always have better image quality.

I have a Fuji F50fd and it's a good camera.

That said, the F31fd is better.

Cheers,
James

I have a Fuji E900. It's a creative compact and takes brilliant photos. The battery lasts ages, and you have full control of the camera with aperture priority, shutter priority, manual and even has bracketing. You can also get a wide angle and a telephoto lens kit for it. There is one on Amazon at the moment http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fuji-FinePix-E900-Digital-Optical/dp/B000B66HG4
for £130.

Got one of the (older) Sony Cybershot 'w' series cameras and it's solid as a rock, works in any conditions (I take it snowboarding for snaps) and it does ace piccies. Can't recomend Sony enough.

I'm surprised I got this many replies, nice forum!

See we have some mixed reviews, we have canon fuji and sony where I was at before lol.

will it always be like this as there is no clear answer like you would see in e.g a microwave (higher the watt the better) because all cameras have different sensors and lenses?

If there isn't going to be that much difference I will probably be looking at getting the sony w series because when I look on flickr they seem to have the best shots.

So is there going to be a significant difference between say the sonyw90, f50fd,ixus 75,e900 and the s6500fd?

oh i was set on getting the f31fd but they go for 200 now since fuji have stopped making them.

The 6500fd has a manual zoom lens 28-300 and an excellent video mode, batteries (good rechargeables) last for ages, It also has a large viewscreen.
