I'm just curious about browsers. I'm using Firefox currently, but I was wondering if anyone had tried Google Chrome? Is it any good? Or is it your typical browser that's slow as hell thanks to endless toolbars you don't want, and even more endless spyware etc?

i downloaded it and it didnt work for me, Re-installed it and the same thing happend. so gave up and stuck with opera.

Mac or PC ?

I like Safari for normal browsing but Firefox works better for some sites. Not yet tried Chrome but had planned to have a look at it later.

EDIT: Its not out for the Mac yet!

Using Chrome now. Fast. Minimal toolbars. Well worth a try if you want to keep things simple.

I've had it working on 2 XP machines and a Vista box so far. There are obviously occasional issues with some sites, but then it is beta and I can only see great things to come.

Safari for me, on the iMac here and I have tried it on PC and it does seem faster than IE.
Also running Ubuntu on an old laptop, which comes with Firefox, but that computer is pretty rubbish so not a fair test.

I heard there was a lot of troubles with the initial release of Chrome, and that it wasn't secure? Do these rumours hold any ground?

PC
Tried Em all over a period of time But using FF3 at the moment seems they have at last got it somewhere near right, for me anyway

Yea I'm on Firefox 3 as well..never have any problems with it! I don't think it's even worth trying Chrome now...I'm set in my ways :D

I like Chrome, installed in early on and it worked just fine.
I tend to dislike firefox, I find it slow to respond (especially when first starting) and it never seems to be any faster at loading pages that IE.
I like IEs built in rss reader (okay, so Im lazy) but its d/l management sucks (firefox is good in this area).
I'd like to see some widgets and addons be made available for Chrome like there are for firefox.

As I understand it the engine of firefox and chrome are the same, but they differ radically in implementation.

Have you checked out my Apple Mac tip a day thread!

im on vista, i downloaded google chrome and it plays havoc with 'WindowBlinds' (a program that makes all your windows fancy). other than that it seems ok but i don't like tabbed browsing which is why i binned chrome and turned tabs off on ie7. Now however i'm back to using trusty safari which tells me its still the best. imo

I'm currently using Firefox on an iMac although Safari is nice too and does get used.

SeaMonkey for me - used to be Netscape.

Has a built in email and news client - the Swiss Army Knife of browsers :naughty:

I use Firefox on my PC and Safari on my Mac. I tried Chrome on the day it came out and I'll probably move to it in the future once they support add-ons etc.

I use Opera, it's clearly the best browser out there!

I use a pc, i used to favour firefox but the new update and look, do NOTHING for me which really really annoyed me so i now mainly use safari.

Tried chrome, didnt like it...

I use Chrome and find it very fast, even loading from cold it faster than any of the other one's out there(on my pc).At first i couldn't play videos using it but it has got better and now it isn't a problem. Also it uses the same platform as Safari so i'm used to the layout.

Use Firefox most of the time but am trying out opera 10 (not fully released yet), i have been quite impressed as it seems fast, still a few problems with it but looks promising!

I use Safari, if you don't like the UI of Chrome try Safari as it is the same Webkit engine behind it...

i use a mix of IE and firefox i generally shut all toolbars off though and just keep a couple of icons for regular use button, hot keys rock

stick with firefox, chrome's nothing special! i heard firefox is also the most secure browser out of them all.

I've used Opera since the very early days and it remains my main browser. It's fast, secure and reasonably bug free (9.5 being the exception to that rule)

I use Firefox when I'm building my websites and use IE only on very rare occassions when nothing else will work because a site has been so badly written and as a final test for cross browser compatability of my sites.
