hi all,
my dads looking at getting a bridge very soon, can anyone recommend any and how they perform ??

he`d like a good zoom, not too hard to master the functions and he has upto £350

thanks chris.

I use a Canon G12 when I don't want to lug the DSLR gear around.

It's pretty awesome, would definitely recommend it.

The new fuji bridge is out now, i think its the xs1, same sensor as the x10, that looks cool, or the nikon 7100?

Could be mistaken but I found previous fuji cameras to be very battery hungry. Not sure about new ones.

I have the Nikon P500 and i am really pleased with, i looked at the HS20 but apparently the HS10 was better, the HS20 has poorer image quality and the menus can freeze, here's one i took recently at full zoom (36x optical) + (4x digital)

The zoom was one of the main reasons i bought it.

i`m a sony user so dont know much about nikon, has it got a steady shot type system ?

how do you find it in low light?

thanks chris.

What do you mean by steady shot system ? I havent done much low light shooting but what i have done using the night landscape mode i have been happy with.

This is a reply I put in someone else's thread about bridge cameras...

IMO Fujifilm have produced some cracking bridge cameras. I started out with the S100fs bridge and it produced some cracking images. From full auto to full manual it did most things a DSLR does - albeit a little slower and not quite the same quality! Still the results were quite impressive!

Some examples from my S100fs (remember I was a complete novice!)
