Which Bird Book?

Thanks Neil I've just had a look at that and it looks ideal, just wondering about the collins guide to British bird instead of Britain and Europe any thoughts?
Thanks for the input Vivian but that one appears to be American based, unless I looked at the wrong one.

Andy, I've just been to my local fete and spotted a colins gem Birds book, it's one that I carry with me as it's pocket sized so I bought it for the princelly sum of 20p because people are always asking for books, this one has phots rather the illustrations, if you want it just pm me your address
How's that for a coincidence

Andy,

Neil's option is by far the best option, as you rightly point out the Sibley guide (although brilliant) covers American ssp.

I have 3 copies of the Collins guide, one in my van,a well used one for in the field and a nice minty one kept on my bookshelf.
