Which "beauties" do you have?

All i have is an Onlympus OM-2 which i love!

Lenses for the camera are:
28mm f2.8
35mm f2.8
50mm f1.4
75-150mm (f3.5 i think)

That Nikon looks lush.

Is the leica digital, excuse my ignorance I don't know much about leica's! :geek:

The Leica CM is not digital. Only M8, M9, Clux, D-lux, Digilux and S2.

well - unlike most of the people who've posted on here, I don't have many pretty cameras.

My main film camera is a EOS-3 - It's a lovely camera to use, don't get me wrong - feels solid, robust, handles well, and has been absolutely reliable since I bought it on here. Don't think i've missed a frame from anything other than user error in a couple of dozen rolls of film. It's only problem is... well, it looks just like any other matt-black magnesium cast professional level Canon camera. Functional? , yep, Handsome? , maybe - in a good light, Pretty? not really no.

And my Rangefinder - it's a FED-3b... like most other cameras hailing from the USSR, it's solid and fairly minimalist. It's not pretty though.

But do have one camera, that to my eyes at least is really good looking. I picked it up fairly recently after getting annoyed with a Holga using 120 film, but only getting a sharp (ish) image on maybe 1/8th of the neg. So - I decided I wanted a pocketable 120 camera that had a reasonable lens and didn't leak light like a sieve. 5 minutes later i'd bought this...

It's a Voigtländer Perkeo I - needed a bit of a clean up, and attention to the shutter, but an evenings work and I'm well and truly happy with it. I've a camera that's smaller than the FED-3, that takes MF film, folds down and fits in my fleece's jacket pocket, and looks GOOOOD!

I like that!

I quite like folding cameras, but mainly stick with 35 mm, the one that I regret getting rid of was a Voigtlander Vitessa N, what a lovely looking camera.

Got a nice Kodak Retina II instead, though I couldn't believe the weight of the Kodak its almost as heavy as my Nikon F5 with 8 AA batteries in it!

I am with you on that question Liam. I struggled with the pictures as I was looking for the wind-on! How little I know...

I've been playing around with an old Olympus OM 50mm lens on my Panasonic DMC-L1 today and this is a picture of a lovely little Kodak Retina II.

Kodak make good cameras on occasion and this little Rangefinder is one of them. It weighs a ton!

Oops forgot to mention I was playing around with the little OM lens as it produces great bokeh and was experimenting hence why this has a shallow DOF.

Oddly enough, up until last night, I was chasing one of those :D

Yup - funny old world innit?

[i'm poor]

I seem to be on the look out for a decent lens to fit a Leica CL all of a sudden... what you got going Ujjwal?

I have only 2 CL lens Arthur.

The 40 mm and the 90mm. Not selling those 2.

A 50 mm LTM J-8 is on the ebay at the moment; if you want I can take it down.

You could have a look at MWClassic. They usually have a decent range of leica lens

Did you finally get the CL?

I will have very soon Ujjwal, the shouting is all over - just the paying to go through as soon as I can! Pepper has his Canon 50m on Ebay also that I am keeping an eye on.

Arthur

PS - nice sofa Ujjwal...

Great Arthur. How much did you pay, if I may ask. what lens comes with it

No lens, just the cheap bit

... I been checking out Summicrons and similar...

hte summicrons are lovely. But I think Arthur, you will love a Summar. It has the old world charm....

Are all of us going over to M mount cameras? I've bought the Bessa R2a, Ujjwaldey has bought a CL, Ambermiles buying a CL.

If we're getting rid of all our M39 stuff does that mean I have to get rid of my Ic and IIIc and my Ruskie LTM's too?

Mmm

Richard, I used a IIIc for sometime, before getting the CL last summer. I have to say, CL is far easier to use and carry. Not having a lightmeter is a bit of an issue for me, since I dont have enough experience with the sunny 16 rule.

The only lens I might get from the LTM era will be the Summar, since there is no equivalent in the M mount.

I want one of these... Leitz Elmar optics (copy I admit) but coated too !

... and I know where there's one going :D

Swine... should be a free gift :D

I have the same problem hence buying the R2a, I have the CL but its too delicate for me, I'm a clumsy oaf! Hence buying the R2a and using the M mount lenses I have with that, plus I have a 35mm Summicron which will be perfect on the R2a but is difficult to get just right on the CL due to it only having 40mm and larger frame lines.

That elmar is collapsible, isnt it? Be careful on a CL Arthur, it'll foul the lightmeter arm when collapsed.

Ujjwaldey is right, I use one of my wifes hair bands around the the lens barrel to stop them collpasing all the way in.

Or a thick cardboard wrapped around the barrel. But it loses the charm of a Leica then, doesn't it :D

Ho ho. I think a nice green one actually :D

Well - i'm certainly not getting rid of my Fed-3, not after all the mucking about fixing the shutter! Now I know it works, I might have to look for a lens that's a bit wider... What's the betting that it comes with a large ugly lens-cap on the back though

The Zenit 3M's staying too - I didn't spend three days getting it back to brass and working properly to climb over it to get to a Leica...

Teak cushions eh? No wonder it's going...

Mmm Got one of those lenses too ;)

Jupiter 12 is beckoning to The Big Yin in the Ruskie lovers corner.
