Which battery and memory card?

picked up my Nikon D80 yesterday (but not allowed to get my hands on it til the 28th as its my 21st birthday present from my gf! :razz and wanting to get a spare battery and a good memory card for it. can you please post links as to the best 2nd battery and memory card for the camera and the cheapest?

Get a proper Nikon battery and save your money and get yourself any old memory card.

I've got a mixture of cheap memory cards from CostCo and really super duper, top of the range expensive ones and can't really see any difference when using my 40D.

Batteries however, don't start me on that one. Just buy the proper one. Take my word for it.

Personally i think its a waste of money going for Nikon battery i've used non-oem Phottix batteries on my D70 & D300 and get the same usage as from the original Nikon one, You can get 2 for £17.90 inc P&P from here, a single one is about a tenner.
