Hi guys
Which AA batteries do u guys use ?
Plus any good rechargeable batteries I should check out ?

Eneloop always get rated well.

I use the 7dayshop own brand 2900Mah rechargeable AA's and have been using them for over two years. They give a good long life, I got over 800 shots on one set before the refresh time started to drop too much, and they keep their charge well when not in use. I've got a couple of Vapex chargers for them and they are great too. As Lee above said, Eneloops are very popular with photographers too, again they give good shooting life and last well when not in use.

As above eneloop or the 7ds good to go ones. Might also want to look at intelligent chargers.

Eneloops and I also use a Powerex Maha C9000 intelligent charger/analyser.

Im going to go against the grain here. I use maplins batteries £15.00 FOR 100, use them then chuck them out, simple, no worrys about which ones are charged and which ones are not etc etc
they way I look at it , the amount it costs to get set up with batteries and a decent charger will get you that many maplins batteries that by the time youve used them all, the rechargeable batteries are probably due for replacing anyway.

how many flashes do you get with eneloops batteries ?

I don't know - I've never counted. And of course it depends on how you are using the flash, eg as the main light source or for fill, or somewhere in between; directly illuminating the subject or bounced, and if bounced how far away the reflecting surface is, and how reflective it is; whether the flash is diffused or not; how far away the subject is.

eneloop

I use eneloops. I use this Powerex charger. It's good (the reconditioning really does work, bringing batteries that have lost their "ummph" back to life)...

As an example of what a difference reconditioning batteries can make, yesterday I noticed after recharging a set of eneloops that their capacity (not sure if that is the right word) was only around 550 MAH. I reconditioned them overnight (it took 8 hours or so) and they are now around 1850 MAH.

As well as reconditioning when capacity has dropped a lot, the Powerex documentation recommends reconditioning (or one of the other programs) once every 10 cycles, or if batteries have not been used for a long time. That is true for my eneloops (I have 7 sets of them) and I have started reconditioning them all.

7dayshop, 2900's no probs, good range of chargers and batt's,
Jim

Another thumbs up for the Eneloops from me superb, can be left unused for months without hardly any loss of performance, but as has been mentioned the use of an intelligent charger is
IMHO important....
