which bag?

hi, i cant really give any info on the gem sling, but i have just bought a Crumpler pretty boy XXXL. a kind person done a review on this forum for the Pretty boy. Review...

i find the pretty boy meets my needs, it holds my 400D with 55-250mm attached, kit lens and flash with room to spare for another lens, plus the front pocket is relatively large. can hold .. iPod, cables, batteries and cards etc,..

The style of bags you have listed are different - so it depends on your needs. The sling bag is great for long use, but not as cool as the crumpler.

I was hunting for a bag recently and after reading way too much decided on a Lowepro 200AW - got it from this fourm for £32 . For my needs it is great - holds the 400d, kit lens, zoom, nifty fifty, charger and room for more. Handy pocket on the top as well. Great when I am going out doing landscapes, but the missus hates it and makes me use a smaller bag when going to events...... bear in ming though this is only IMO and I am basic user on a steep learning curve.

yea got the same issue, missus is not overly pleased with my new interest and would ratehr I carry somethign a little less 'camera bag like'

The sling bag looks like it would always slip round so I am thinking the crumpler is the way forward.

Horses for courses - Pretty boy a bit more stealthy if you want to avoid the pic pockets and tea leafs. I prefer something you can get in front of you and see it.

Not everyone like the slingshot type bags, and not very comfortable if you ask your lady to carry it for you.

I've got the Gem sling bag and its identical to the 200AW.

Therefore it has the extra strap to secure the bag on the move (no slipping around) and this can be tucked away when not being used.

I was looking at the same two bags as you and probably would have preffered the look of the crumpler but the Gem was cheaper (£32 delivered).
As I'm brassick at the moment and needed a camera bag pronto it was a no brainer.

I'm pleased with it though, theres a bit more space to put a few small things in the top bit like sarnies on a day out if you needed to, though in my case more likeley to be spare nappies and baby changing gear :baby:

Hope this helps.
