Is "one shot" on the canon dslr's literally only for things which dont move AT ALL?

I am shooting a 2yr old and a 6 month baby together tomorrow and Im thinking maybe AI FOCUS might be best as they are definitely not going to be completely still and posing for me and if they move a tad it will keep up with them.

Hmm, servo is probably the best option. AI can be a little fussy about deciding to go into servo mode, usually too late. You can still use it like one shot if you're using CF4-1 and the * button to focus, just let go of the focus button once it's locked.

You could try the startle effect.... shout very loud and they will stop moving although they will have a startled look on their faces :p  Just make em laugh Janice and they will be fine for you I'm sure ;) Good luck, Oh I always use manual focus.

If you use flash and set the DoF/aperture carefully, you're halfway there.

Good luck!
