I had pretty much sold myself on getting a Canon IP4500, but I have been reading around a lot and some say that Epson give better quality (i.e. actual reproduction of original), and also the newest ones have more ink cartridges, which some say should equate to better quality?
I know that the R265/R360 models were well received, and that there is now a new R285 out that is in same price range as the IP4500. The Canon has a higher resolution 9600x2400 (Epson 5760x1440) but then has only 5 ink cartridges vs the Epsons 6.
Is there likely to be much between these two? I would likely be fitting either with a CIS so running costs not too much of an issue - just quality.
Other than these two, are there any I have missed out at that price range? I plan to take a memory card somehwere that has both to compare, my local PC world may have both in stock but it's a bit of a drive.
