what about the new 4k monitors dell has a 28" for £500+
Yes this is what put me of getting a Dell it seemed hit and miss as to if you got a good one .If you do buy a dell, clarify with the seller which revision number you are getting. You do NOT want an early revision ultrasharp, Dell have got into the habit of releasing unfinished, buggy products. I was lucky my U3014 was an A03, but even now the card reader is flaky....don't have the time or inclination to send it back though.

on the other hand, a lot of people use them with no problems. same as anything, always the bad experience that gets shouted about online.Yes this is what put me of getting a Dell it seemed hit and miss as to if you got a good one .
Rob.
Disagree completely.
e: matte Cinema Display? The old square bezel? Not an ips panel those aren't they?

well yes and no. however it could be something as simple as not being able to source a specific component and having to swap it in the manufacturing process. this would give the model a new revision. They wouldn't release later revisions if the early ones weren't crap. It's not just a few people either..
Official source please. In the case of Dell Ultrasharps, it's because the early revisions aren't QC'ed properly.
Nope could be fulfilled by amazon warehouse or 3rd party depending. Only way to guarantee that is to order from dell.Very close to buying a dell u2713hm from Amazon. Can I assume this will be sent, directly from Dell, which should be the latest revision?
Official source please.

so theres no hard proof that the revisions were due to issues rather than different internal parts? You expect me to get a written statement from Dell stating that the QC on their monitors is crap? The internet is littered with reviews stating the issues with early revisions...go look for yourself if you want evidence.

so youd agree that you cannot categorically state as you did previously that new revisions were due to them being "crap".
i may be being pedantic but stating that as fact is misleading.
