I have a yen for an ultra-wide aperture 50mm (equivalent) lens for Olympus MFT.

I've 'narrowed' my choice down to the SLR Magic Hyperprime 25mm f/0.95 Cine III, or the 7Artisans 25mm f/0.95, and (just maybe) the Laowa Argus 25mm f/0.95 APO.

Posting here as I'd like to hear any user experience of these lenses please.

I'm tending towards the SLR Magic simply based on internet jabber which suggests it's the better resolved optically of the two, and will double as a good video lens.

TIA :)

I haven't used an SLR Magic lens (indeed I've not used any of these at 25mm f0.95) however the 7Artisans lens I had was a bit rough around the edges, whereas the Laowa 10mm f2 was a superb little lens with practically no distortion. Similarly some of the Laowa macro shots seen on here have been very good.

This isn't on your list, sorry :D

I had the Voigtlander 25mm f0.95 and I have nothing but good things to say about it. It is IMO an outstanding lens.

More a question of cost if I'm honest.

I guess so. If you haven't already checked used prices it might be worth a few minutes googling just in case you spot one that looks reasonable. Good luck choosing :D

Have you considered the Mitakon 25mm f0.95, small, light and from what I've seen sharp (for a 0.95) wide open? I've always really like the rendering of Mitakon, has nice 'pop'.

Good stuff.

I hope you'll post some thoughts on it and some pictures?

Good luck with it and enjoy your new lens :D

Will do.
My main thought at the moment is 'jeez it's heavy!' every time I pick the camera up  :$
That’s why I think the Mitakon is the better choice tbh, but I’ve not done an IQ comparison test between those two.
