someone linked to a thread with the dynamic range comparison between a d300 and s5 pro i think it was and now i can't find it

don't suppose any of you web wizards can use the search function a bit more successfully than I or perhaps has this bookmarked anywhere?

cheers

ah much appreciated peeps was really banging my head on the desk not being able to find this :)

I've got quite a few other comparisions I've posted too, as I spend most of November 2007 evaluating both cameras.

I honestly prefered the S5 Pro's output 90% of the time, even though the D300 is much sharper.

This is the sort of thing I saw:

The S5 Pro just makes "nicer" pictures IMHO. I really wanted to like the D300 (especially as I'd just spend £1.1k on it), but for me it just didn't float my boat much really. But then it would be a boring world if we all liked the same stuff - I was pretty grateful for Jessops return policy in this instance :)

I also compared high ISO, and the D300 beats the S5 Pro, so you gain on DR but lose on high ISO:

I still think even though its getting on a bit, the S5 Pro is a very potent imaging device, as long as you don't care about megapixels too much.

I thought they would have this year as they usually take 2 years between releases but apparently not.
